STAND UP PADDLE SURFING

ADVANCED

Once you have some solid control over the paddle board its time to take it to the next level.  In this lesson we are in the ocean learning to surf the waves on the paddle board.
Riding waves on a paddle board is a blast!  Summer surf in the hamptons is usually around waist high and is perfect for the SUP.  The big boards can catch the waves earlier than a conventional surfboard making those small wave rides last forever.
There is a lot to learn when we hit the ocean.  In this lesson we start with surfing basics and learn how to deal with a 10 foot board in the surf break.
Some topics covered are:
  • Picking the perfect spot
  • Timing the waves to make paddling out easier
  • Turning and Taking off
  • Surfing rules and Etiquette
  • Dodging the board when you wipe out.
  • Wave Riding!
